We offer basic life insurance that pays a benefit to your beneficiary equal to one times your annual base salary—with a minimum of $20,000 and a maximum of $1 million. There’s no medical underwriting and coverage begins on your first day of active employment.
You can increase your coverage one level at a time up to seven times your annual base salary up to $5 million. You can make these increases during annual enrollment or if you have a qualifying life event. You can also buy coverage worth three times your annual salary up to $1 million without providing evidence of insurability. Accidental death and dismemberment coverage (AD&D) pays benefits if you or a covered family member dies or is injured because of an accident. We provide basic AD&D insurance from Unum equal to one time your base pay—with a minimum of $20,000 and a maximum of $1 million. Disability insurance is important in case you’re sick or injured and can’t work—or when you have a new child. We offer three levels of disability coverage, which begins on your first day of active employment:
Family planning? You’ll need to purchase short-term disability coverage to receive maternity, parental and adoption benefits. If you don't enroll when you're first eligible and decide later that you want coverage, you'll have to go through medical underwriting to prove you're insurable. Coverage may be denied due to a pre-existing condition, including pregnancy.
